SCOPE OF THE SITUATION
Historically, aid has been given to an orphanage school in Nairobi, Kenya. It is there that thousands of children can be found homeless, malnourished, ill, uneducated and hopeless.

Many of the orphans have lost their parents to the pandemic AIDS. In 1993, UNICEF estimated over 98,000 children were homeless in Nairobi. The current estimate is 200,000.

With over 77% of the Kenyan population earning less than $1.00 daily, education becomes impossible.

Many relief organizations attempt to operate in the area only to fail due to the overwhelming magnitude of the problem.
